Learnership For 2026

1. TVET Learnership — Office of the Chief Justice

Organisation: Office of the Chief Justice (South Africa) 
Programme: TVET Learnership (Public Management / Administration / Financial Management / HR) 
Duration: 18 months
Stipend: R 4,950 per month
Location: Various ( Polokwane High Court, Thohoyandou High Court, North West, Northern Cape)

Role & Key Tasks:

  • Assist in public administration and office management.

  • Work in financial or human resource administration, depending on the focus post.

  • Gain workplace experience in government operations.

Eligibility / Requirements:

  • N6 Certificate in Public Management / Office Administration / Human Resource Management.

  • South African citizenship.

  • Must be unemployed and not previously participated in a similar internship/learnership.

2. INSETA Learnership (Unemployed Youth)

Organisation: INSETA (Insurance Sector Education & Training Authority)
Programme: Learnership for unemployed youth
Duration / Start: The programme must start by 01 June 2026.
Stipend / Grant:

  • Monthly stipend: R 4,000 per learner.

  • Additional grant amounts: tuition (R 25,000), work-readiness programme (R 7,500), and regulatory exams (R 1,700).

Eligibility / Requirements:

  • South African youth, ages 18–35.

  • Priority for rural areas in Eastern Cape, Free State, KwaZulu-Natal.

  • Employers applying for this learnership must commit to transition learners into internship programmes after completion.

3. Agricultural Learnership — AGRISETA

Organisation: AGRISETA (Agriculture Sector Education & Training Authority)
Programme: Learnerships 18.2 (Unemployed) 
Stipend / Allowance: R 3,000/month for 8 months for unemployed learners. 
Grant (for training): R 30,000 per learner for 18.2 (unemployed) programme.

Eligibility / Requirements:

  • Unemployed youth.

  • Must provide relevant documentation (ID, proof of unemployment, ) when applying.

4. Matriculant Learnerships Across Multiple Sectors

Programme: SETA Learnerships across multiple sectors (Banking, Hospitality, IT, etc.) 
Duration: Varies by SETA and programme. 
Stipend: Often between R 3,000 – R 4,500 per month, depending on the learnership.

Examples of Fields / Sectors:

  • Banking (via BANKSETA)

  • IT / Media (via MICT SETA)

  • Construction and Engineering (via CETA)

  • Public Service / Administration (via PSETA)

Eligibility / Requirements:

  • Age: often between 18–35 years (but depends on SETA)

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12) is commonly required; some learnerships may require or accept NQF-level qualifications.

  • Must be unemployed or underemployed (depending on programme)

  • South African citizen or legal resident (depends on SETA)

How to Apply:

  • Visit the relevant SETA website for your sector ( Services SETA, MERSETA, W&RSETA) and look for “Learnerships / Learner Portal.”

  • Prepare required documents: certified ID, Matric certificate, proof of residence, CV, motivation letter.

  • Submit your application through the SETA’s portal or via email, depending on their process.

  • Make sure to apply early  some learnerships close once quotas are met.

  • Closing date : 20  January 2026

5. Sasol Firefighter Learnership

Organisation: Sasol 
Programme: Firefighter Learnership (14 Posts) 
Location: Secunda (6 posts) and Sasolburg (8 posts) 
Closing Date: 15 February 2025

Requirements / Eligibility:

  • Matric with passes in:

    • Maths or Technical Maths

    • English

    • Physical or Technical Science

  • Must have a Code B driver’s licence

  • Physical fitness test required (heights, confined space, fire exposure)
